Big cats raised in captivity cannot be released into the wild. LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary, a project by FOUR PAWS, provides an appropriate, lifelong home for big cats that were kept in inadequate conditions in zoos, circuses, or private captivity. The habitat constructed for our big cats offers large areas for family groups, facilitation of natural behaviour through enrichment, and the highest standards of medical care, as well as maximum security standards of the enclosures. After your check-in at reception and pre-tour video, your 1 Hour Guided journey into our Sanctuary begins! Meet some of our regal Big Cats, including a stop at our Special Care Unit, Leopard & Tiger enclosures, and don’t forget to look out for our free roaming wildlife who also call LIONSROCK home. Gain in-depth knowledge about the struggles and victories of our Big Cats. We may not all be the same, but our desire to live is no different!

We absolutely loved our experience at Lions Rock. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and attentive staff! The drive was lovely, saw a wide range of animals and our driver was very informative. We decided to have lunch at the restaurant after, and every person we dealt with was so friendly! Food was delicious too!! Can't wait to go back

HI - our trip to Lionsrock was very interesting. Our guide - Pieter was very informative and was willing to answer all the questions put to him. It would of been nice to see some of the bigger lion prides closer which he discussed as we only saw the lions and lioness in isolation cages. And unfortunely for us, the tigers and leopards were hiding in the bushes - but that is to be expected. Overall a pleasant experience but i do think it could be better. A big thank you for the work you do - we need more sanctuaries out there like you

A most enjoyable experience and a very interesting guided tour. Have distributed a number of your brochures to various tourist and holiday spots around the Clarens area. Will definitely be back someday.
