Dyer Island Cruises proudly offers a unique Marine Big 5 Safari in the picturesque fishing town of Gansbaai, nestled in the Overberg region. During whale season you may well see all 5, being, the Southern Right Whale, Great White Shark, Seals, Penguins and dolphins.
Founded in 2000 by Wilfred Chivell as the first-whale watching business in the region. Dyer Island Cruises is a leader in its field and has made great contributions to marine conservation as well as unrivaled knowledge of the marine eco-systems in the area.

The tour was really amazing and we had great encounters that day. Loved the crew, the information, the attention to spot important sealives. Only thing I'd change it's the duration of the tour - I would love to be bit longer, around 4 to 5 hours. Chances to see more animals and to explore the ocean increases :) (speaking as an ocean lover)

My dad and I were visiting South Africa from the United States and the Dyer Island Cruises Marine Big 5 Tour was something we really enjoyed. The entire process impressed me: the clear communication and check in, breakfast the morning of and safety briefing, the knowledgeable and helpful staff on the boat who made us feel feel safe and comfortable and did a fantastic job of making sure we saw the penguins, seals, humpback whale and even an albatross. We enjoyed the lunch afterward and even made some wonderful South African friends. I purchased the video from our tour and it was very high quality and a great value. Thank you so much for an amazing experience and memory I will keep for a lifetime.

What an incredible experience! From the warm welcome with coffee and delicious muffins, straight out of the oven to the friendly and helpful staff, we felt safe and well looked after throughout the day. The boat was in ship-shape and sailed the high seas with ease.The spotting of the magnificent whale as well as an impressive sun fish were highlights, but the penguins and seals did not disappoint. Thank you for an amazing and memorable day which was rounded off with a delicious lunch on return.Five star treatment!
