Kamikaze Kanyon is in the Fynbos biome and forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom. There are 6 floral kingdoms globaly and the Cape Floral Kingdom is the smallest and the most diverse per unit of area.
The diversity of fynbos plants is extremely high, with over 9000 species of plants occurring in the biome of which 6200 are endemic, i.e. growing nowhere else in the world.
Although the Fynbos biome only comprises 6% of the area of southern Africa, it has half the total number of plant species on the subcontinent – and has almost 1 in 5 of all African plant species so far described.

Beautifull day hiking and abseiling ! Enjoyed to do this couple of days before my 40 th birthday. Very good guides as usual . Something to do when you have seen all the pretty landscapes around Capetown .

What a FUN day!!! The location for this adventure couldn't be more perfect! It's quite a value considering it includes transfers and two staff for an entire day + food!! The hike was tough in parts, but I assume that helps keep the pools uncrowded. The pools were CHILLY, but refreshing and you swim for a bit and get used to it. The abseiling was really fun - the staff was very helpful and safety-minded, and friendly. This makes for a great day with fit friends. I wouldn't suggest this for the unfit, or very young - but if you're interested in hiking and jumping into some water with a bit of a thrill, this is PERFECT!! There are several jumps into a few different pools, so not all HUGE jumps (all optional). We went for the 14M and it was AWESOME!! And the beers and boerwors at the end really hit the spot!! Still waiting to receive an email with our photos...
