Stellenbosch in Stellenbosch by Adventure Shop Stellenbosch
The tour combines the beautiful scenery and sites of Historic Stellenbosch with excellent wine pairings and some healthy outdoor exercise to enjoy.
Each rider will collect a bike and helmet to suit their size, (E-Bikes also available). Our guide will carry a snack pack for each rider and will have space in the backpack for those who would like to buy wine en-route.
The tour starts with a historic tour of Stellenbosch, visiting some historic sites in town. Head to the scenic Jonkershoek Valley. A drive through the winding road of oak and poplar forests will take you to a wine estate nestled in the valley bottom, here you can take in the stunning views while doing a wine tasting of award-winning wines on an island in a lake.
On the way out of the valley, you will stop at another wine estate which sports beautiful grounds and historic Cape Dutch architecture. A cellar tour will take place here before we start our Chocolate and Wine pairing that will make your taste buds tingle. After the tasting, we will head back into Stellenbosch Town via the Stellenbosch University before ending the tour again at our office
There are some variations to the route, with varying levels of difficulty so the tour can be tailored to suit your cycling ability.
NEW: Option to do the tour on an E-bike at an additional cost of R150 per bike
Children under 5 years are free (cycle in a baby seat with parents). Children who cycle on their own, full rate. Children will do Chocolate and Ice tea tasting.

Our cycle tour through Stellenbosch was absolutely fantastic! What a wonderful way to see this beautiful town and scenery. The two wine tours we did really topped it off, especially the Lanzerac tasting with the delicious chocolate! Marshall, our tour guide was knowledgeable, really friendly and ensured that he did everything he could to make our day extremely enjoyable (even when it started raining!!) I would fully recommend doing this tour.
