Departing from the Harbour Bridge Platform (AC Marriot Hotel), Cape Town, this picturesque rail adventure promises a delightful 2.5-hour trip through the scenic Cape landscape to the charming seaside town of Simonstown.
Our historic passenger train, pulled by a steam locomotive, ensures a unique experience. Onboard, discover a fully licensed bar and a dining car offering coffee and delectable snacks. For your convenience, we also provide card payment options.
Upon reaching Simonstown at 11h30, you'll have ample time to explore the town, indulge in a leisurely lunch, and peruse the local museums. The station is a short 600-meter walk from the heart of town, offering you a delightful stroll.
As the day unfolds, we bid farewell to Simonstown at 15h00, bringing you back to Cape Town by approximately 17h30. Don't miss out on this exceptional adventure - book your seat now and join us as we rediscover the allure of Simonstown together!

Ons het die dag terdee geniet. Dit was 'n nuwe avontuur, aangesien ons nog nooit met die trein na Simonstad gery het nie. Die rit was soos 'n nuwe ontdekkingstog met veral die Observation Car met vensters rondom het die gedeelte tussen Muizenberg en Simonstad asemrowend gemaak, aan die eenkant die see en aan die anderkant die berge en die pragtige historiese geboue. Ons kan nie wag vir die volgende rit saam met Ceres Rail nie.

From the ease of check-in to arrival back at Harbour Bridge Hotel Station in Cape Town, everything flowed so smoothly and seemlessly. Comfortable seating, with own bar in the Observation carriage. Proper coffees and sandwiches available throughout the day. Also a range of T-shirts and other memorabilia available to purchase. Very pleasant and helpful staff helped make this a wonderful day and special journey.
