More about Private Full-day Kruger Safari

Experience the Kruger National Park on your own terms. Our Private Full Day Safari offers the intimacy and flexibility that only an exclusive tour can provide. Whether you are a keen photographer needing extra time at a sighting or a family looking for a more personal pace, this journey is designed around your interests.

As the sun rises over the bush, you’ll have the expertise of your own dedicated guide to navigate the premier Satara region, renowned globally as “lion country.” Without other groups to consider, your day is a bespoke exploration of the wild.

The Exclusive Start Your private expedition begins at 05:00 when you are collected from your overnight accommodation and we enter the park just before 06:00. After a swift check-in at the park gates, enjoy a private moment in the bush with fresh coffee, tea, and traditional rusks as the morning chorus begins.

The Heart of the Wild: Satara Focusing on the Satara area, we go in search of the Big Five and the park’s legendary predator populations. At midday, enjoy a relaxed lunch at the restaurant at Satara Rest Camp. Being a private tour, you decide when you’ve seen enough and when you want to linger longer at a spectacular sighting.

The Golden Hour As the afternoon light turns golden, perfect for capturing world-class photographs, we continue our search for the park’s hidden wonders before leaving the park for the day and returning you safely to your accommodation in Hoedspruit.

Arrangements

Duration:

12 hours

When:

Seven days a week, year round,

Where:

Guests' overnight accommodation

Weather:

Even if the weather is inclement, your safari will proceed - animals frequent the roads when it is raining to avoid walking in the wet grass. The roads also retain heat which the animals enjoy in cooler weather.

What to Wear:

1) Even in winter, temperatures can exceed 30 degrees Celcius so we recommend comfortable cool clothing. 2) No need to purchase special neutral-coloured clothing - a normal tshirt and shorts or jeans in winter are approporiate for a Kruger safari. 3) We recommend that you have closed shoes or sneakers for climbing in and out of the open safari vehicle but as it does get really hot, flip flops or sandals can also work. 4) Please bring a windbreaker/ jacket no matter the season as the OSV can be windy and chilly in the early mornings and evenings. In winter, a scarf and beanie are definitely worth bringing. 5) We also recommend a tight-fitting hat or cap and sunglasses.

Things to bring:

ID/Passport, binoculars and camera are recommended, sun protection/sunscreen, credit card for SANPARKS entrance/conservation fee & purchases as the Kruger is generally a cash free zone, cash for gratuities
