More about Ocean Wildlife Encounter

These trips are all about finding and, where possible, interacting with some of the amazing creatures that frequent the rich waters around Cape Town.

Besides the amazing animals that we encounter, it’s a really fun boat ride in an incredibly beautiful environment. The views of Table Mountain and Robben Island are amazing, it's a must see and experience to be part of.

There’s no set route. We’ll go where we can to find our oceanic friends. Normally it’s in the Table Bay area. Come and get on the boat with me.

Amazing experience. Everything about the experience was an adventure from the speed of the boat to the cool spray of the water. We were lucky to be accompanied by tens of dolphins. We went up close to a whale. Saw a few seals, a sunfish. Really fun and informative. Highlight was seeing the wildlife converging when the dolphins were all driving fish to the surface of the water, which were then being picked off by hundreds of birds. Five thumbs up.

I took my sister on a surprise birthday boat ride with Paul, and we had such a great time! She absolutely loved it - we saw a sun fish, dolphins, seals, and many sea birds. Our favourite thing was when the dolphins came swimming alongside the boat and we could watch them playing around underneath the bow! Cape Town also looks super beautiful from the water :)

I was visiting Cape Town for a couple of weeks on business and was recommended Ocean Wonder by a colleague who lives and works in Cape Town. He had been out on the boat the previous week and had a great time watching some Southern-right whales. This was my only weekend to get some sightseeing and I have absolutely no regrets in booking this trip! We were lucky enough to see a massive pod of Long-beaked common dolphins chasing a school of fish, which was absolutely amazing. Paul dropped the echo sounder into the water so we could hear their clicks as they approached the boat, mesmerising! I’d encourage anybody visiting Cape Town to book a trip with Paul, he’s a super nice guy and incredibly well informed about the area and the marine life. The boat is first class for anyone worried about that and Paul also provided anti-seasickness bands which seemed to do the job for those who needed them. There is also a really cool Farmers Market just 2 minutes from the harbour, which is also a must after being out on the boat. A great day and I will certainly be taking my family when I return one day.
