More about Sani Pass Day Tour

Sani Pass Tour – Pathway to Lesotho – “Kingdom in the Sky”

The Sani Pass tour gives you the opportunity to experience an adventure of a life time – an exciting journey up this famous mountain pass. The tour starts in the small town of Underberg in South Africa and crosses into the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, exploring the high altitude mountain vistas in the Sani Top area of Lesotho.

Our Sani Pass tour snakes up the mountain and takes you through a scenic valley along a crystal clear river, making for a breath-taking experience. Your personal Tour Guide will fill you in on all you can learn about the history of the pass and the surrounding area. Feast your eyes on the natural landscape that is dotted with many species of wildflowers, creating splashes of vibrant colours. The road itself is rough which is why only 4×4 vehicles are allowed to traverse it, but because of this and the hairpin bends, you are in for a fun and heart-racing trip! We use only the best Toyota Land Cruiser models for this reason.

Once you reach the top your senses will be filled beyond your wildest dreams – breathe in the fresh mountain air, drink in the sweeping vistas that are nothing short of majestic and enjoy this unique African experience in Lesotho – ‘Kingdom of the Sky’.

Sani Pass is a must do! We were really thankful for the opportunity to be able to experience such a beautiful part of South Africa! Our guide/driver, Peter/Milwa(sic), was competent, informed and professional. We never felt unsafe or worried. At the border, he assisted us coolly, for a smooth border entrance/exit. Even the officials at the border posts were friendly and helpful. Peter opened up the world of plants and birds to us, on our way up the pass. He stopped for photos and just to enjoy the view. We opted for the Black Mountain Pass as an extra, and Peter waited commendably patient for us to hike up to the outlook point! Thank you to him for making the trip memorable. The vehicle is very well maintained and neat. Emile allowed us to leave our car in a safe, under cover parking, while doing the trip. Definitely an overall positive and energizing experience! The booking beforehand had a few hick ups, apparently due to rolling over to a new system. That was a bit stressful, since we weren't sure whether all the arrangements were in place, but it all turned out fine. Thank you to the Roof of Africa Team!

Had the most amazing day Mondli. He made the trip fun and interesting and made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. Would 10/10 recommend and do again.
