Monkey Sanctuary
Wildlife experiences and educational tours at a primate sanctuary at Hartebeespoort Dam in Bojanala-Eastern Region.
The Monkey sanctuary is one of several sanctuaries in a group of sanctuaries, including the elephant sanctuary that provides for orphaned and abused animals. Situated west of Hartbeesport Dam alongside the Elephant sanctuary it provides an environment where monkeys (primates) can be given their freedom in a natural environment. The sanctuary situated in one of the many Kloofs (Gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range provides the perfect environment for Monkeys from around the world.
Tours of the Monkey Sanctuary take place seven days a week, and are led by knowledgeable guides through indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways, past waterfalls and even through the treetops.

A wonderful afternoon spent with the monkeys and a very knowledgeable guide. The interaction with the monkeys was amazing and the kids enjoyed it so much. This was our second visit, and again a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

This was a great experience, seeing the monkeys jumping around, selecting their prefered food in the bucket. A great day!
