Monkey Sanctuary
Wildlife experiences and educational tours at a primate sanctuary at Hartebeespoort Dam in Bojanala-Eastern Region.
The Monkey sanctuary is one of several sanctuaries in a group of sanctuaries, including the elephant sanctuary that provides for orphaned and abused animals. Situated west of Hartbeesport Dam alongside the Elephant sanctuary it provides an environment where monkeys (primates) can be given their freedom in a natural environment. The sanctuary situated in one of the many Kloofs (Gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range provides the perfect environment for Monkeys from around the world.
Tours of the Monkey Sanctuary take place seven days a week, and are led by knowledgeable guides through indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways, past waterfalls and even through the treetops.

This was a great experience, seeing the monkeys jumping around, selecting their prefered food in the bucket. A great day!

We have been doing this tour many many times and it never disappoints! Love it! The kids especially! Such a nice way to learn a bit about the monkeys and interact with them. The walk is fun and safe and the guides are nice! It is however getting really expensive..
