The Monkey sanctuary is one of several sanctuaries in a group of sanctuaries, including the elephant sanctuary that provides for orphaned and abused animals. Situated west of Hartbeesport Dam alongside the Elephant sanctuary it provides an environment where monkeys (primates) can be given their freedom in a natural environment. The sanctuary situated in one of the many Kloofs (Gorges) of the Magaliesberg mountain range provides the perfect environment for Monkeys from around the world.
Tours of the Monkey Sanctuary take place seven days a week, and are led by knowledgeable guides through indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways, past waterfalls and even through the treetops.

Der "Affenspaziergang" war ein sehr schones Erlebnis. Der Guide hat einiges interessantes uber die Affen erzahlt. Es waren unterschiedliche Affenarten zu sehen. Jeder erhielt eine Futterschale und so kamen die Affen sehr nah, wobei die unterschiedlichen Affen unterschiedliche Essensvorlieben hatten. Es ging uber einen Holzweg und einige Hangebrucken den Hang hinauf, bis zu einer sehr schonen Aussichtsplattform. Von dort aus konnten wir sogar einige freilaufende Elefanten entdecken.
