Sue

I booked the hike/abseil trip for a surprise birthday gift for my husband. Unfortunately the weather forecast was not good for the day we booked, as it was so windy. The lovely Leo handled all the admin and was regularly in touch with us via phone calls and WhatsApp messaging. She checked which day was good for us and reorganised it all. She was very flexible and offered us as full refund if we could not reschedule. Fortunately it all worked out. We met the guide Tom as the arranged place/time and off we set up the mountain. He was so interesting and informative and talked with us about the geography/ history of the area. He was passionate about the outdoors and this showed in his enthusiasm as he stopped regularly to show us the views and to check our well-being. An hour and 45 mins later we reached the top. Fantastic views. Tom showed us the quieter places to eat/sit and enjoy. He then handed us over to 'G' who gave us instruction for abseiling. My husbands face was a picture when we surprised him with this! The abseiling was about 10 mins down - I was a complete beginner, but felt safe and very nervous! 'G's team shouted us instructions from above and below and guided us. A wonderful experience. We then had a 30min walk back up to the summit where we had prebooked the cable car down. When we reached the bottom we had to walk up to the Platteklip parking - a good mile uphill to collect the car. A great day. Very organised and friendly team. Would definitely recommend 100%.

We had a wonderful experience with both our hike and the abseiling. Chizzy was our guide for the hike. He was prompt to meet us and helped us find parking before the hike that would be convenient when we rode down on the cable car after our activities. Chizzy was the perfect guide. He was knowledgable, very fit, encouraging, and introduced us to the abseil staff at the end of the hike. Our group of three was very slow in our climb and Chizzy was very patient and helpful even though it took us longer to complete the hike that it should have. The views on Table Mountain and during the hike were amazing. We took tons of pictures and Chizzy indulged us by taking many photos. The abseil experience was awesome, too. The staff was so good to train us, get our gear on and fitted and make us feel comfortable with this experience even thought we had never done it before. The abseil staff also took tons of pictures of us on our camera so we have so many great photos and memories. I highly recommend this combo hike and abseil experience. I can't think of a better way to experience Table Mountain. It was the "bomb" and all the staff were rock stars.
