The Franschhoek Motor Museum offers visitors a special opportunity to look back at more than 100 years of motoring history with its unique and exciting collection of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and memorabilia in the magnificent setting of L’Ormarins. Across the length and breadth of Southern Africa, only one place can adequately portray the evolution of the automobile, The Franschhoek Motor Museum. The museum’s collection exceeds 220 vehicles – ranging from a 1898 Beeston motor tricycle to a 2003 Ferrari Enzo supercar – and more than 80 exhibits will be on view at any one time, displayed in four de-humidified halls with a total floor area of 2700 m², and presented in chronological order.

Having visited the Franschhoek Motor Museum several times during our trips to South Africa, it remains a wonderful experience and there’s always different vehicles to see due to the rotation of the collection. Whilst the collection if vehicles is outstanding, how they are displayed, the pristine way the are maintained and the overall position and setting on the estate make for a fantastic trip. The staff at the museum are helpful and courteous. We were also fortunate to see the rotation of some vehicles when it was a pleasure to watch the care and expertise shown by the staff team in doing so. We also went on the Vintage Car ride around the estate, which was the first time on our visits to the museum. This was excellent and helped bring the museum alive! An overall excellent visit, as ever.

Was lost for words at the beauty of the venue - the surroundings are beautiful, tidy, clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly and most helpful. Spent over 4 hours making our way through the garages that housed the vehicles. Every vehicle was in pristine condition, as was each garage. Husband was in his element - being a petrolhead - the best Christmas gift for him. Enjoyed a light meal at the restaurant on the premises - most enjoyable. All in all a good experience and wonderful day out.
