Exclusive Sanctuary tour
Tour in Pretoria by Kevin Richardson Foundation
Tour in Pretoria by Kevin Richardson Foundation
Just an hour north-east of Johannesburg and half an hour from Pretoria lies the Kevin Richardson Foundation Reserve. Nestled between the Bobbejaansberge and straddling the Boekenhout spruit, the reserve forms part of the Dinokeng Game Reserve, and is the home of the ‘Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary’. The sanctuary is home to lions (as well as leopard and hyena) rescued from captive-breeding and cub-petting facilities. Enjoy a guided tour of the sanctuary while learning about the challenges facing lions today and the work we are doing here at the Kevin Richardson Foundation. A guide will drive you between the sanctuary enclosures on a game viewer, giving you a chance to take photographs and ask questions. This tour is suitable for people who prefer to have the guide all to themselves and more privacy.

Absolutely fabulous. I went to South Africa with the main aim of attending this tour as I wanted to go before you change the purpose of the sanctuary. It did not disappoint. I have been following the lion whisperer you tube channel for many years. I recognised all the lions we saw on the tour ... OMG Meg - so big! George answered every question in so much detail .... Thank you ... such a pleasure to meet someone famous! Mandy thank you for putting up with my schedule changes If possible would you consider allowing volunteers to help out again? Especially at feeding times. If yes I would jump at the chance to return ... which I will do anyway but this would be an added incentive. Thank you for such a good time!

I was the first time with my wife Katrin on the Sanctuary - myself several times in the past years. It is a great experience to see this animals live - I support the Foundation since years (Ref.Mandy) and will be there again early April this year with my whole family!

We enjoyed it tremendously, you can see the care, pasion and professionalism in looking after these predators. Keep up the good work.
