The privately-owned Featherbed Nature Reserve is a pristine piece of land situated on the Western Head of Knysna and is only accessible by ferry. A 3-hour excursion departs daily including a ferry cruise, 4x4 vehicle drive and an optional 2,2km guided nature walk. The views are breath-taking, and the knowledgeable nature guides will share their insights on the history of the area, fauna and flora. A must-do trip while in Knysna and suitable for families, young and old. Good walking shoes are recommended as well as cameras, hats, sunblock in summer and a warm jacket in winter on the ferry.

Excellent day out - very interesting and guide gave an excellent commentary- would thoroughly recommend. So nice to see The Feather Beds Nature Reserve return to its natural glory after the devastating fires from previous years.

What a lovely day out in Knysna. The walk down was just beautiful with breathtaking views! Definitely a must when in Knysna. It would be nice if they could add in some time for a swim however :-)
