Our mission at African Dream Horse Safari is to show all who join us a fun and exciting way to work with and learn about horses and South Africa’s wildlife.
The program welcome holidaymakers and interns who would like to spend their time with us living their ultimate African Dream. Whether it be horse trails through the bush, improving their horse-riding skills during jumping and flatwork lessons in the arena, game drives in the Big 5 nature reserve, making a difference on outreach or exploring the surrounding area on one of the many excursions, African Dream is the place for you.
As a family-run business, we pride ourselves in what we do and do our best to share our incredible passion for both horses and nature, in a fun-filled, happy environment with all who join us on this wonderful adventure.

My brother, his girlfriend and I overall really enjoyed our safari. Booking was simple, though we didn't receive the promised gate code to be allowed into the estate, and arrived late after having to ring through from the gate. We were greeted warmly and introduced to our horses. We saw a mix of animals, the highlight being able to get close to a group of 10 giraffe. Jess was very friendly. Our only criticism would be that after a 1 minute "crash course" at the beginning for Ross and Erinn who had never ridden before, there was a lack of further instruction/help for them during the ride. Erinn was given a horse who didn't like other horses behind her so ended up at the back, which meant I couldn't go behind her to help her either. Also the horses constantly pulling to eat got irritating after a while. I had fun having not ridden for years, but I think they felt they were left to it a little bit.

I really enjoyed the experience. Jess was very personable & great at giving me confidence as a novice rider before we went out & making sure I was comfortable. The route we took had lots of variety & we saw lots of wildlife. I have one negative comment though. The horse I was partnered with was Nutmeg who Jess told me like to grab snacks at every opportunity but it soon became clear that she was too strong & determined for me to handle. Jess recognised this so we swopped horses & I finished the ride on Brady who was very nice to ride. Nutmeg is a lovely horse but the wrong choice for a novice rider & is more suited to someone who has more experience in my view.

A Fantastic Horseback Trail Ride -- Highly Recommended! Our two-hour horseback trail ride was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure everyone felt comfortable before setting off. Their professionalism and enthusiasm made a great first impression, and it was clear they genuinely cared about both the riders and the horses. Speaking of the horses, they were in excellent condition---well-groomed, well-trained, and clearly well looked after. As a beginner, I appreciated how the ride was paced perfectly, allowing me to feel at ease while still enjoying the experience. The route itself was a real highlight, taking us right through the middle of the wildlife park. It was an amazing way to see a wide variety of animals up close, offering a completely different perspective compared to walking or driving. The scenery and wildlife made for an unforgettable ride, and the two hours went by in no time. The girls leading the ride were brilliant---professional, attentive, and always making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Their guidance and friendly approach made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely do this again and highly recommend it to anyone. A great way to spend a couple of hours outdoors!
