Afrikanos is situated within the beautiful, lush Birkenhead area just outside the world famous Gansbaai, enriched with natural greenery, fynbos, ocean and history! We are only 3.5km from Kleinbaai Harbour in Gansbaai, the Great White Shark Mecca. Come compliment your diving experience with the Sharks by experiencing the freshwater Apex predator the Nile Crocodile
Be part of this exhilarating experience where man and crocodile collide in a natural and safe swimming environment. We at Afrikanos do not stick you in a cage, but allow you to “free” dive with our crocs, while they are safely being kept on their side of the pool by a sturdy and strong first in the world stainless steel net. No cages, no restrictions!
There is tons to experience for young and old at Afrikanos! For those that do not want to get their hair wet, you can come view the crocs from a safe distance while partaking in our fun and active croc pond tour! Our very knowledgeable tour guide will take you through the enclosure where you can view the crocs in their environment at our viewing cave! If you’re running low on fuel, take a stroll up to our fully licensed family restaurant and bar and enjoy some refreshments. Bring the kids along to be a pirate on our outdoor sunken ship play park! Fun for all at Afrikanos!

Amazing Experience - Welcomed from the start, (we did have a drink in the restaurant while we waited for our time slot), everything was explained clearly, all safety aspects were clear, it was interesting to get some background and history on the crocodiles before we were in front of them. We were offered skins, but as it was a very hot day they were required, although some of our group just them for added sun protection. The entance into the water was slippery but we had been warned. Once in the water we were cm from the crocodiles but felt protected. I had my under water camera with me, and the photos are unreal. The guide gave us constant information thoughout and was open to questions. The railings in the water assisted you to go under, we were a group of five and there was plenty of room for us all. One of the Crocs didnt want to interact but you could clearly watch him on the bottom. Going above on the walkway afterwards gives you a better perspective of their size though that you dont get up close. Following the experience we were given towels and there were showers and changing areas before collecting our valuables from the FOC lockers. Not an extensive gift shop but love the t-shirt!

Was very good experience. My kids did the diving and it was an exceptional experience for them. As well as the way the guide did the session. They know their facts and it was in a very comfortable manner. I will definitely recommend anyone.
