Closer to a Nile crocodile you cannot get!
At Afrikanos you get to ‘free dive’ and swim with these majestic creatures. Our first in the world pool enclosure separates man and croc with a state-of-the-art stainless-steel net. Come wet yourself!
You will be part of our daily tour and dives are being experienced every 2 hours. That means you have an hour and 45 minutes to enjoy yourself! Once you arrive, you will be welcomed and given an educational talk on crocodiles. After that you will be prepped on the upcoming events. The Croc Pond tour will then commence, and once finished you will be given a locker to store your private valuables to get ready to DIVE!
Divers can access safe and secure lockers, warm showers and clean restrooms.
An adult diver/guardian must accompany kids between 6 & 12.
Children under 6 years of age are not permitted to dive.
When is the preferred time to dive with a Nile Crocodile @ Afrikanos Gansbaai?
While the warmer temperatures between October & April are the absolute best for crocodile diving, we've noticed that during their brumation period (May - September), they tend to spend more time in the water when it's rainy and miserable.
In winter, crocodiles mainly expose themselves to the sun diurnally and usually stay in the water nocturnally depending on the weather conditions.

We had an amazing experience diving with the crocodiles. The staff were very friendly and informative and made us feel very safe. They answered all our questions. This was an unforgettable experience for my family and I. I would definitely recommend it. I mean, where else are you going to get the opportunity to dive with a crocodile?
