Gansbaai, a popular tourist destination in the Western Cape, is a fishing town best known for its population of sharks and for the visiting whales in winter. It’s the perfect place to go shark cage diving and whale watching. Gansbaai is also well known for Dyer Island, Geyser Rock and Shark Alley.
Thousands of seals live on the island and rock, while the sea between them is filled with sharks. Facing a great white in these waters is sheer adrenaline, while Southern Right Whale watching in the winter months is bound to leave you awed. Gansbaai also offers marine safaris all year round.
