Whale Watching Trip length is between 2 and 2.5 hours, depending on sightings and weather conditions. All cruises depart from Kleinbaai harbour near Gansbaai. Dyer Island is located 8 km from shore and is an access controlled Important Bird Area (IBA) for the conservation of its many resident bird species, including African penguins. Adjacent to Dyer Island is Geyser Rock, home to a 60,000 strong Cape fur seal colony. These seals are present all year round. We will take you into the channel of water between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock known as the world famous ‘Shark Alley’. We will then take you to the whale hot-spots in the bay. With over a decade of experience, not only do we know where to expect the best whale viewings, but the whales have also learned where to expect us!
We pride ourselves on being both fun and educational. Each trip is led by experienced marine biologists and guides who will share their knowledge with you, keeping emphasis on the welfare and conservation of the animal. Responsible tourism is our main objective so we focus on conservation, education, community upliftment and safety.

Good tour. But could not watch whales and dolphins. Looking forward for next trip with hope to see whales and dolphins....
Our initial trip was cancelled due to bad weather, Dyer Island went out of their way to keep trying to get us rebooked for another trip, which they did. Super friendly and knowledgeable service.
I was disappointed. We had signed up for the 0900 trip but, with no explanation, we were put on a 1230 trip instead, apparently because there was no transportation available for the earlier trip. I wasn't given the option to arrange my own transportation. What makes me regret not getting on the earlier trip was that they saw humpback dolphins and southern right whales, the two species I was most interested in seeing, while our trip did not. The wind picked up and our trip was rougher as well. Bright side: Our naturalist Jax was excellent and the staff did what they could to get us back to Cape Town as early as they could.

Una tomadura de pelo. Carísimo para lo que es, no vimos ballenas a pesar de hacer un dia esplendido y la reserva de animales cutre y sin explicaciones. Una decepción. Vimos ballenas al dia siguiente desde la costa.
