Dyer Island Cruises proudly offers a unique Marine Big 5 Safari in the picturesque fishing town of Gansbaai, nestled in the Overberg region. During whale season you may well see all 5, being, the Southern Right Whale, Great White Shark, Seals, Penguins and dolphins.
Founded in 2000 by Wilfred Chivell as the first-whale watching business in the region. Dyer Island Cruises is a leader in its field and has made great contributions to marine conservation as well as unrivaled knowledge of the marine eco-systems in the area.

This was our second time doing this trip and it was every bit as good as the first. We had fantastic sightings of the marine 5 , especially the whale and calf and the pod of dolphins. The muffins and soup were delicious too. Very knowledgeable people on board who were happy to answer questions.

From Cape town this was a very long (2 hours ) and early (6.15am ) start.....However it was well worth it. To start with the safety briefing with coffee and pastries. Kitted out with lifejackets and just a two minute walk to the harbour which was beautiful. The boats were double decker and the amount of passengers taken means there was plenty of viewing space which even the most selfish couldn't spoil. As soon as we were out to sea a large pod of dolphins were sighted and throughout the trip we saw Bryde whales humpback dolphins and seals. Bear in mind though the sighting of other species depends on the time of year you go. Oh yes the whole team were great, underling a great experience.

Fantastic trip. Staff really informative and organised. Trip was a thrilling ride. We seen all the Big 5 and finished with a lovely lunch. Just perfect. Would highly recommend.
