Knysna is one of South Africa’s premier whale watching destinations, its indigo depths teeming with hundreds of migrating whales. Ocean Odyssey is the only Close Encounter Whale Watching permit holder for the Greater Knysna area. Throughout the year we also offer Marine Eco-Tours. We are passionate about showcasing both the whales that frequent our local waters as well as the many other fascinating species that exist within the complex web of marine life. Amazing experience. The waters were really choppy the day we went but the reception gave accurate information on what to expect and gave us an opt-out basis our comfort. We decided to trust them and go ahead with the tour. It was the best experience my family had. The guides were patient, followed up on leads that passengers gave them, and were patient in spotting whales. We never felt they were in a rush to reach a spot and turn back. I would highly recommend them.
